Description:The State of Texas established mandatory Hunter Safety Education a number of years ago, According to this regulation, every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Training Course. Minimum age of certification is 12 years.
Our course at Chandler's Gun Shop and Shooting Ranges allows you to take the traditional two day course at our facilities. As an alternative, you may take the one day Field Course at our facilities in conjunction with either Online or Home Study as allowed by TPWD. Cost, as mandated by the State, is $15 either way.
Part of the class involves actual live fire exercises. You will need a .22 caliber rifle and 50 rounds of ammunition for this portion of the course. If you do not have a rifle, you may rent one from us, the cost will be $25 and you must reserve the rifle one week in advance.
